Description

Haworthia fasciata gets its common name from the crisp white bands striping its dark green, pointed leaves — a small, patterned succulent that looks like it was designed rather than grown. It stays compact, rarely getting bigger than a teacup.

Unlike a lot of true desert succulents, zebra haworthia actually prefers bright indirect light over harsh direct sun, which makes it a good fit for a windowsill that does not get blasting afternoon rays. It is a favorite on our checkout counter for exactly that reason.

Care

  • Bright, indirect light; too much direct sun can scorch the leaves
  • Water deeply and infrequently, letting the soil dry out between waterings
  • No special humidity or feeding needs
  • Pet friendly and small enough for even the tightest apartment windowsill
