Description
Philodendron erubescens ‘Pink Princess’ has dark, near-black leaves splashed with bubblegum pink variegation — a pattern that is different on every single leaf and impossible to fully predict. It has become one of the defining “rare plant” darlings of the last several years, for good reason.
Unlike some fussier variegates, Pink Princess is a relatively easy grower once it is established; the trick is giving it enough light to hold onto that pink coloring, since low light tends to push new growth back toward solid green.
Care
- Bright, indirect light — essential for keeping the pink variegation vivid
- Water when the top two inches of soil are dry
- Moderate humidity helps but is not strictly required
- Toxic if ingested — keep away from pets and small children
