Description
Adiantum raddianum has delicate, almost translucent leaflets on wiry black stems, and it is as beautiful as it is particular. This is the fern for someone who wants a challenge, or who already has a humidifier running.
It will not forgive a dry pot the way a snake plant will — maidenhair ferns wilt dramatically at the first sign of drought stress, though they often bounce back with an immediate, thorough watering. Keep it consistently moist and humid and it rewards you with some of the most delicate foliage in the shop.
Care
- Medium, indirect light; no direct sun
- Keep soil consistently and evenly moist — never let it fully dry out
- Needs high humidity; a terrarium, bathroom, or humidifier setup helps a lot
- Pet friendly, safe around cats and dogs
