The questions we hear most often, answered honestly and without a sales pitch attached.
Do you ship to my state?
We ship to the continental United States only, via USPS Priority Mail, Monday through Wednesday. See our Shipping & Returns page for full details, including our winter heat-pack policy.
My plant arrived looking stressed. What do I do?
Some minor stress after shipping is completely normal — a few limp leaves or a dropped leaf or two doesn’t mean anything is wrong. Unpack it, water it if the soil is dry, and give it a stable spot with indirect light for a week before worrying. If it looks genuinely damaged rather than just travel-tired, contact us within 48 hours with a photo and we’ll take care of it under our live-arrival guarantee.
Do you offer local pickup?
Yes. Select local pickup at checkout and we’ll have your order ready at the shop, usually within a day. No fee, no minimum order.
Can you repot a plant for me?
Yes. Bring your plant and a new pot in and we can usually repot it while you wait or shop. If you need a recommendation on pot size or soil mix first, just ask at the counter — we’d rather steer you right than sell you the wrong size pot.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes, in any amount, available both in-store and online. They don’t expire and can be used toward plants, pots, soil, or anything else in the shop.
Are your pots handmade?
Our ceramic planters, including the Sage Ceramic Planter, are handmade by small Pacific Northwest potters we work with directly. Our terracotta pots are a more standard classic shape, sourced for quality and consistent drainage rather than as one-off pieces, but they’re still a far cry from mass-market plastic.
Do you do wholesale?
We’re primarily a retail shop, but we occasionally work with other small local businesses on plant orders for offices, events, or storefronts. Email us with what you’re looking for and we’ll let you know if it’s something we can source.
Can I bring my sick plant in for help?
Please do. This is genuinely one of our favorite parts of the job. Bring the plant itself if you can, or clear photos of the leaves, stems, and soil if you can’t. We can usually diagnose common issues — overwatering, pests, light stress — on the spot, and we won’t try to sell you something you don’t need.
What if I’m just starting out and don’t know anything?
That’s most of our customers. Tell us about your space — how much light, how often you’re realistically willing to check on something — and we’ll point you toward a plant suited to where you actually are, not where you wish you were.
