Description
We got tired of recommending three different bags of amendments to customers just to build a decent aroid mix, so we started blending our own. This is the same mix our staff uses on the potting bench every single day, mixed in small batches right here in Portland.
It is a chunky, well-aerated blend built for tropical houseplants that hate sitting in soggy soil — think monstera, philodendron, and pothos — but it works just as well as a base for anything that wants sharp drainage with a bit of body to hold onto.
Details
- Blend of coconut coir, pine bark fines, perlite, horticultural charcoal, and worm castings
- Mixed in small batches in-house, not mass-produced
- Sold in a 4-quart resealable bag
- Well-draining and chunky — suited to tropicals, not recommended for cacti or succulents on its own

Chunky, airy, drains beautifully. My aroids stopped sulking after I switched to this mix. Wish it came in a bigger bag.
